A Yankee In The South. I'm a recent transplant to Florida via New York where I worked in publishing, mostly for trade magazines. I've done a fair amount of editing as well, including a rising fiction author's second novel. I've worked as a freelancer for a variety of publications both print and on-line and my specialties include jewelry, footwear and travel pieces. I am an amateur runner (did my first marathon after 50), am very involved in local and national politics, have sung semi-professionally and am an avid music and theatre fan. I am definitely feeling the culture shock of being a Yankee in Northern Florida, but I moved here because my youngest daughter who recently turned 18, is a freshman at the University of Florida, and I wanted her to have family closer than 1100 miles away! Go Gators!! I'm looking forward to being part of a diverse and articulate pool of writers and editors, both for professional and personal reasons. I am looking forward to writing about a variety of topics that interest me and will hopefully interest the online community as well!
